As retold by Bruce Lowitt

Morris, manager of a huge furniture store, is engaged to a Christian girl. Boris, owner of the business, warns his son against marrying a non-Jew.

"But she's converting to Judaism," the young man says.

"It doesn't matter," the father says, "A shiksa will cause problems."

A few weeks after the wedding and honeymoon, Boris calls his son ands asks why he's not at work.

"It's Shabbos," Morris says.

"But we always work on Saturday," Boris says. "It's our busiest day."

"I won't work on Saturday any more. My wife wants us to go to shul on Shabbos."

"See," the father says. "I told you marrying a shiksa would cause problems."
