November 9, 1951—
"Fund Emigre Committee Salutes Doctors And Dentists Group For Their Aid To New Americans," Southwestern Jewish Press, page 9: Over 150 "New Americans" sponsored by the Jewish community of San Diego have received the finest medical and dental care through the generosity of local medics and dentists. Immediately on arrival in San Diego, the new arrival is sent to a medical member of the panel for a complete physical examination. If dental care is indicated an appointment is made for necessary examination and work. Started three years ago, the panel of doctors and dentists have save the Jewish community many thousands of dollars in medical, dental and hospital bills and has rendered a fine service to newcomers.  The panel of doctors includes Drs. Earl Brodie, Harold Elden, Robert Epsten, Vila Erlanger, Leonard Greenfield, George Hermann, Frederick Hollander, Seymour Kuntz, Joseph Kwint, George Lauren, Edward Levy, David Miller, Milton Millman, Max Nelson, Walter Ornstein, Edward Platt, Phillip Rand, Oscar Ravin, Earl Richmond, Ernest Shaw, Mitchel  Weissbuch, James MacLaggan, Durwin Brownell, John Bloomenthal, Bruce Sanderson, Bernard Roth.  Other doctors participating are Dr. Alex Angel and Dr. Milo Youel.  Dentists who have participated are Dr. Allan Gale, Seymour Okmin, J.A. Rittoff, Robert Stone, Harry Kaufman and Orland K. Bullard. The doctors and dentists work in close cooperation with the Jewish Welfare Society which furnishes the necessary medical social work. This program was projected through the planning and coordiantion carried on by the Federation of Jewish Agencies.

August 2005—Jewish Historical Society of San Diego, "Membership News," Toldot San Diego:  Sincere condolences to the families of.... Member, Seymour Okmin, husband of Rose Okmin. Seymour was the historian of Tifereth Israel Synagogue and of the ... Weinberger Lodge of the B'nai B'rith.  In 2000, he donated his personally photographed and developed photo album of lodge members and events to the JHSSD archives along with other lodge memorabilia. He was often seen at JHSSD events, capturing the day on film. After developing the photos, he donated them to the Society.  His contributions were many and he will surely be missed.
