U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman (D-N.J.) has written a letter to Saudi Ambassador Bandar bin Sultan expressing outrage over an article appearing in the official Saudi Arabian press accusing U.S. soldiers in Iraq of harvesting the organs of fallen Iraqis and selling them. 

"All of these claims are blatantly false and should be denounced by the Saudi Arabian 
government," Rothman wrote. "We urge you to forcefully condemn this fallacious article and its numerous fabrications, which only serve to perpetuate untruths about the American men and women serving valiantly in Iraq." 

He said the article written by Fakhriya Ahmad appeared in Al-Watan on Dec. 18, 2004, and since has been reprinted in other Arab newspapers.  —Donald H. Harrison
